Coming Soon: Our Glendalough Flip Story

There’s a version of this post I could have written back in the spring, when Glendalough was still just a walkthrough and a plan. I’m glad I waited, because now I get to tell you the whole thing.

How It Started

This flip has been a family project from day one. My brother’s company handled the renovation, I helped with selections, and together we turned a property with real bones into something we’re genuinely proud of. It started with demo, then framing, then rough-in plumbing, each step slow enough that it was easy to forget how far we’d come.

The Middle Stretch

Somewhere around the original hardwood floor discovery, this project stopped feeling like work and started feeling personal. We found original wood hiding under carpet in incredible shape, sanded and clear coated it instead of ripping it out, and paired it with brass hardware that cleaned up beautifully. Selections came together from there: an earth tone checkerboard floor in the kitchen and sunroom, Blue Mirage Skye tile in the upstairs bathroom, white shaker cabinets, and Siberian Frost quartz counters.

Where It Stands Now

Counters are templated. Carpet is in. Tile is finished and looks even better than I imagined it back when it was just a sample board. Exterior work wrapped up, and this house is finally, genuinely ready. This week, it’s getting landscaped, cleaned, and photographed, the last few steps before it’s ready for its close-up.

What’s Next

Glendalough is coming soon. Showings begin Thursday, 9/24 at 4:30 PM, with open houses planned for Saturday, 9/26 from 1 to 3 PM and Sunday, 9/27 from 12 to 2 PM. I couldn’t be more excited for its next family to walk through the door.
